This family of 30 degree and 45 degree chamfer bars has been designed around the inserts used in our popular TA, TAS, MD, TFX boring bars and our CRI-BORE boring system. They are manufactured from premium alloy steel with four flats and the shank is cylindrically ground to a tolerance of .0005.
The 1/2" dia. and 3/4" dia. shank bars have been designed to fit our most popular boring heads, the DBL-202 and DBL-203, respectively. The 5/8" dia. shank bar was chosen with the Hardinge lathe in mind. This family of bars can also make use of your used inserts for chamfering! All three sizes of bars can be used in either a mill or lathe application.
